End of Year Reflections

The highlight in my learning this year was improving my spelling because I got the same score two terms in a row and then this term I improved by four months.

I am most proud of developing my time management. I am proud of this because my parents always forced me to do my homework and know I can manage my own time. I now know when I can play games and I have to work.

I am chatty, motivated, competitive, hard working, active, independent.

I think I am an independent learner because I complete tasks on time and early I also work hard. I need to work o checking me emails everyday and replying if needed. I also need to be proactive with communicating with others.

My biggest focus for next term will be to keep up with the work i'm doing and keep working hard.

Camp Reflection

The biggest highlight on camp for me was stealth because I was the only person to be the last one to be found. This was my highlight because I wasn't being stealthy I was just staying in one place, I was treating it like hide and seek.

I am most proud of completing the tramp because it was extremely long and hard. The reason I am proud of this is because I didn't complain much and I never gave up. It was long and I worked hard to complete it.

On camp I learned that I am not afraid of heights unless they are really high like 8 meters.

The most difficult thing on camp for me was the high ropes because it was extremely high and I'm afraid of heights.This was the hardest thing because I am afraid of heights when it gets really high like this.

The feedback that I would have for next year would be to have the camp sites bigger so you can do more things in them. I would keep the: flying fox, rock climbing and the swing thing.

Reflections Term 3

My highlight for this term was the hockey tournament because we won and I only let three balls go into the goal. One of which hit my leg and was called a goal because if my leg wasn't there I would have gone in the goal. The reason this was my highlight was because it was so much fun and  I wasn't only the goaly but for two half games I went up and I scored five to six goals.

I am most proud of getting every single task for Lesley on time. The reason I am proud of this is because I was the only one to get every single task done on time along with Leni. I am also proud of this because I have spent so much of my spare to get all of the tasks done and I managed to finish all of the tasks.

Next term I would like to improve the amount of P.E because that is my favorite subject in school. The reason I want more P.E is because we only do it once a week with Merrick where we could be doing sports during the week along with the P.E rotation.

My big learning focus for next term will be my spelling because in the last two terms I got the exact same results in the test. The way I am going to improve my spelling by moving into Matt's spelling group and focusing more on the spelling rules for longer rather than just touching on them. This will help improve my spelling.

I would like us to focus slightly more on spelling but not to much. The spelling was good this term but maybe one more workshop a week.

My Student Conference went really well because I got through everything and my parents where really proud of everything I achieved this term. I got really good things out of the conference this term because I learn't all of my levels and I fund out that I need to work on my spelling.The thing that my parents got out of the conference was that they could see how well I was doing at school and what type of work I have been doing.

Disquiry Reflection Tuesday

The thing that I am most proud of in my Disquiry is  my videos because I put a lot of work into creating them and editing them. The reason I am most proud of this is because when we were editing our video Imovie got erased twice which made it hard to edit them video.

One of the problems in Disquiry that we had to overcome was when Imovie got wiped fully.  The way we overcame this was by doing the process again. In a way it was good that Imovie got erased because we made out video better each time and I found out how to fade the music.

One thing that I learned during Disquiry was How to play Badminton and the rules to==of the game. Before Disquiry I didn't know as much as I do now.

A good thing about our video was that people found it entertaining and they learned something. someone even thought that I was cool music. One thing that we need to work on for next time would be to make the speaking louder and the other thing would be to turn down the music at the end and at the start.

I think next term I need to be on a hike because I didn't need much help the only thing we needed help with was uploading the videos from drive to Imovie.

This term I liked the choice of having lots of guidance, a little guidance and basically no guidance. The reason I liked this was because you have choice in where you go instead of the teachers supervising you the whole time.

Week 8 Reflections Friday

My highlight for this week was when I moved into the Independent Igroup because I have been working really hard to get into this group. The things that I was working on was getting all my work done early and uploading to ALF. I worked really hard through this week and I finally achieved this goal.


The Igroup I am currently in is Independent. I do not think I am close to moving into Insider because I need to work on every single goal there is up.  My main goal is to push myself and "raise the bar" because I need to seek more challenges when I am not doing L8ED work.


I find ALF time useful depending on how much I've uploaded and whether or not I've finished all of my tasks.I think it depends on where I am at with different things for example if I have uploaded everything to ALF reflections are better vice versa.


I am feeling a little bit sad because Helene was a good teacher but this is opening up new learning opportunists because all teachers are different.


My Disquiry is going great all I need to finish is editing my last video then I am ready to present. Next week my priority is to finish editing then I am ready. Disquiry has been fun and I have learn't a lot. I think that combing these to things has saved more time and made things less confusing in general.

Reflections week 6 Friday

My plan for disquiry next week is to film another video and then edit them both. The stage that I am at is that I am ahead because next week we were only going to start recording but we have already done a video.

My OTJ goal is to produce good pieces of writing every time I write a piece. This week to achieve this I didn't have any tasks from Lesley because this week we had to finish all the tasks we haven't done but I have already finished all the task before she told us. I got some homework from my English extension classes and I did really good work; . I am very close to achieving this goal and I know this because I try my best in every single piece of writing I do. I know whe n my writing is good when I put time and effort in because I usually need time to think about what I am writing about.

One thing that I am enjoying this term is all the tournaments going on because I am really sporty and I love running around. This is also good because I get A break from all the work that I do through the term.
One thing that I would like to improve about Harakeke Hub is that we could have a doing disquiry card for the wall next to the library because Ton and I do our disquiry in the hall. I think we should have this so that if we do our disquiry in the commons our in the hall the teachers will know.

Reflections week 6

One thing that I have leaned today was that one of the rules in badminton is that you can not distract the other player.

My priority for tomorrow will be to finish my next maths task that I get assigned. I will achieve this by getting right onto it straight away.

This morning to show insiderness I had nothing to do so I decided to work on my disquiry. Now we have a survey that I am going to send out and the script.

Reflections week 5 Friday

I am in a group, I am showing others badminton. My plan is to research; start making my tutorial and then edit them. My big question is How can we share our skills in badminton in our school in badminton.  My three smaller questions are Can we make YouTube tutorials?, what are the intermediate skills in badminton? and Who is interested in badminton and how can we lure them in?

My OTJ goal is that every time I do a piece of writing its my best work.The thing that I have done to work towards this is to try to use everything that I have learned to create my piece of writing; I also try to lure them in with a great intro. I am close to doing this goal because I have wrote high quality work for all my pieces of writing.

The thing that I think is going well in the hub is that I am being a lot more responsible with my work.

Reflections Week 5 Tuesday

My priority for today has been to finish my maths task, I managed to finish it, it was more fun than I thought it would be. The code for my maths task that  I had to find out was France has the greatest length of laved roads.

My priority tomorrow is my reading and writing tasks. I am going to read 40 pages tonight. Then I am going to read more at school and answer he question.

This morning to show Insiderness I knew my  workshop with Lesley is tomorrow so I checked with Lesley and I found what My tasks where.

I have achieved complex sentences and yes, I will be uploading this to ALF.

I have really been enjoying the book A winters day in 1939 because its interesting. At the moment they are in a Russian camp and Adams mum has just had a baby and its died.

Reflections week 5 Monday

This morning, I have had no particular priority because I am up to date with all my tasks but tomorrow I will do my maths task.

My priority tomorrow will be to finish my maths task and then Lesleys tasks.

To show insiderness this morning I was waiting for Urs's Rc5 and I needed help on personification so I wrote a story about it and tried to use as much personification as I could and check it all to see whether I was using it right.

Week 4 Wendsday

My priority for Itime today has been to start reading up to chapter 15 of my book and start writing my
narrative. I have managed to create a great introduction to my story at the best of my ability's.

My priority for tomorrow is going to be to finish of my reading and my narrative. I need to finish my writing by Sunday.  to make sure I finish this I will work after school to get this done.

This morning to show insiderness I had a block that I didn't know what to do in that space so I knew I had to read 85 pages so I read my book and I only need to read 50 more pages.

Something that I have noticed is that people have been teasing and terrorizing my little brother constantly, I have tried to stop them but it just carry's on. I am not going to name names but these people don't do it to anyone else they pick on my brother and it makes my feel really bad and I get hurt. They do it just because my brother doesn't like sport or things that most boys here like. They pick on him just because he is different and I get really upset with that but, I don't show it.

Term 3 Week 3 Friday

This week I am proud of my tasks for Lesley because I got them all done, I read 91 pages and answered the questions I also interviewed four different people and wrote a draft on my writing piece. I am proud of this because I put so much time into these tasks, I spent my time at home doing work just to get these done.

My OTJ goal is fro my writing. My goal is that I constantly produce good pieces of writing all the time at the best of my capability. This week to achieve my goal I have wrote a good piece of writing with high quality for my other blog. The writing on the other blog is still in processes. Next week to keep working on this goal I need to keep writing more pieces of writing in my spare time, to high quality.

The Igroup that I want to get to is Independent. I want to get into independent because I want to show my parents that I can be independent because my Dad doesn't think I am an independent. The way I am going to get into independent is by working hard in my learning and making right choices in my work and where I work. I am also going to check Alf more because I don't check ALF enough but I have been checking it slightly more this term.

My ALF goal that I am going to focus on next week is spelling unfamiliar words. The way I am going to achieve this goal is by trying to use lots of different words even though I don't want to make any spelling errors I am just going to put them in and if I get them wrong, I will practice them.

Reflections week 3 Tuesday

This morning in Itime I achieved my maths task. At the start of the block I was going to finish my task for Lesley, but I remembered that I had to get my maths task done by tomorrow.

this morning to show Insiderness I did my maths task and when I was done I started to piece together some of the interview that I did yesterday so that I can see what was similar to what the people said and what was completely different.

Tomorrow my priority for Itime will be to finish of my survey and start working on the 41 questions for my book, it's going to be hard.

The piece that I am achieving for Alf is getting my compound and complex sentences grammatically correct. I need to upload this to Alf more.

Reflections week 3 Monday

This morning I didn't do Itime because  I had L8ED but after morning tea I did my survey which i need to get done by Friday 9am. I interviewed Leni and James, I still need to interview Urs and my mum so that I can finally begin my draft.

This morning to show Insiderness I got right onto my survey, which I needed to get started because I didn't want to fall behind. I finished interviewing James and Leni, I just need to interview Urs and Sharon, my mum.

my priority for tomorrow is my tasks for Lesley because  its really pushing me and if I don't work on my tasks straight away, I know I won't get it done.

Term 3 Week 2 Thursday

This week I have achieved hardly anything because Monday was rotations, Tuesday was the netball tournament, Wednesday was swimming and this morning I had Lesley's group .

I am prioritizing reading and Lesley's follow up tasks because        

Term 3 week 1 Friday

I agree with this statement because my answer for this question was similar and I also think that this will help because it will teach us about living joyfully in the world.

The thing that has helped me work through all of my deadlines has been the people that I work with because now my work is becoming higher quality and i'm doing less talking.

The one thing that I need to work on is my writing because I know I have already succeeded the standers bu I want to get higher so my writing is just as good at my maths and writing.

When there is no stop watch or clock the thing that I do is I rely on inst-inked so when I think it is time to go in I go and check the time. I think the adults of this world do the same.

I have noticed that I have got some new goals because I have proved that I can do the previous goals.

My highlight for this week would be on Tuesday because on Tuesday I finished all my must dos on Tuesday so I had no stress on me so I could do any can do I wanted that would help with with my learning. I think that Reflections are helping my learning because it's giving me a chance to think about whether I have achieved anything in that day or not.

Term 3 Week 1 Tuesday SOLE

I have learned through our inquiry that joy and happiness are slightly different because happiness is doing this that make you happy but joy is more fun and up beat so joy can come from scary games but happiness doesn't.

The things that went well in my SOLE where that we were communicating and all sharing our ideas, we also weren't arguing which was a great bonus.

some challenging things where not talking over the other people because I had lots of ideas but I had to let other people talk.

When I search the internet I make sure I use specific key words which helps me get better information and less results which is less confusing.

TrailBlazer need to make it less confusing because I can never tell between the different tiles I can't see websites with out being really far zoomed in.

Term 3 Week 1 Tuesday

Trailblazer didn't make a good impression on me because Google already allows you to see what websites you have been on. I also think that is not that great because it tracks everything you do so if you where at home and you forgot the app was still running it would track everything so if you where in your Google docs and you where writing personal stuff like passwords etc it would follow it and make tiles.

I think it would look like no-one calling people names, everyone getting along and understanding other peoples point of view. I think that living joyfully will help because it will help you in the outside word with being friendly and communicating with others

The thing that is motivating me to be in the independent and insider is trying to be better than Leni Because he is doing really well in his work and working at high standards and showing really good independence and Insiderness.

Trello is helping me daily because it shows me what I have to do, what im doing currently and what I have finished. That helps because then I don't have to remember every single little thing I have done which saves lots of time.

The one thing I am wondering about is how often will we be doing SOLE because I think I will really enjoy SOLE because we have a topic but you don't pick it for us we get a choice.

Reflection Term 3 Week 1

My main learning goals from my reports  is to stay fully engaged which means I have to sit away from big distractions such as Tom, Daniel and James.

The way I am going to achieve this goal is by staying away from work shops and my friends. I think I should work either by leni to pick up some skills or work alone.

I am really looking forward to rolling breaks because I think I am going to enjoy my inquiry and I could get into something and keep doing through morning tea and when i'm done then I can have my morning tea!

I am going to try and get into Insider by the end of this term because I think i will be capable to do the goals there, I also want to get into Insider because I think it will make me push my self harder.

I am going to do this by working really hard at the goals in independent and then start working on the Insider goals.

The one thing I am thinking about constantly is if  this is going to work for me because things either work out really well or they don't work at all.
